Rugby Trip- trip to Kingston Park to watch England Saxons play Scotland B. 25 pupils and 4 staff.
National Young Ambassador Conference – Four pupils, Chloe Meehan, Jack Bezance, Esther Sheffield Woods and Harry Williams were chosen from 8000 throughout the country to attend a National Young Ambassador Conference at Wembley Stadium. The event was hosted by Jonathan Edwards and many other Olympic and Paralympic athletes attended to act as athlete mentors throughout the day. Pupils had the opportunity to spend time and learn from these sporting heroes in a variety of workshops. The day enabled pupils to show their leadership qualities and to establish and develop a new project which they will introduce within the school community. Pupils from Trinity were the only pupils successful from the North East.
Despite being unsuccessful in the awards the day was a great success and every pupil gained so much from the conference.
Cross Country –Matthew Crawford, Grace Cuff, Stephen McDougall and Joe Finn to represent Cleveland in the ESAA Cross Country Championships.
Wheelchair basketball-This has been a huge success within school and as part of the Young Ambassadors programme the 4 pupils are in process or organising an intra competition in school, between form classes in Year 10 and Year 11. There aim is to offer this sport to the wider community and enable pupils to take up a new sport. With this in mind a Wheelchair Basketball Leaders course will be run for 6 of our pupils to enable them to officiate and assist organise this tournament. 2 teams from Trinity now playing in a regular Middlesbrough league.
Girls Football – Lucy Nassau – Lucy was nominated to attend trials to represent England schools girls U15, she attended trials at Derby and was successful and became a member of the Northern England girls squad. She next had to attend trials at Lilleshaw to hopefully make the England squad. Unfortuately Lucy was unsuccessful in making in the final 16, despite this was a great achievement to make Northern England squad.
Year 10 Netball Team – Year 10 Netball team, have gone another season unbeaten and have won the league for the 4th year in the row, scoring a massive 59 goals and only conceding 12. A fantastic achievement and fingers crossed can make it 5 years unbeaten next year
Dancing at the Riverside during half time matches has been arranged by Amy Myers.
Peat Rigg –On 1-3rd March BTEC Year 11 Students attended an Outward Bound Centre as part of their BTEC Course, carrying out a night expedition, which they had planned and must orientate themselves. The weekend was a great success with pupils showing high levels of enthusiasm to all other activities offered to them such as canoeing, zip wires, high ropes. They were a pleasure to take away for the weekend and the centre highlighted how mature and respectful they were to staff and the centre.
