ALERT – IOS 11 Update, Screen recording tool addition

The Middlesbrough Council Risk and Resilience Team have alerted schools to the screen recording tool addition to the new IOS 11 software updates.

The new iOS11 update allows apple users to enable screen recording, much like the screenshot facility but now allowing full video of your IOS devices screen and everything which is displayed on it. Continue reading

Counter Terrorism Police Safety Campaign aimed at Children & Teenagers

Local schools within the area have received details from the Middlesbrough Council Community Safety Officer of the launch of a new safety campaign by Counter Terrorism Police which is their first ever aimed at children and teenagers.

Designed to teach 11-16 year olds how to act in the unlikely event they are caught in a gun or knife attack, the ACT for YOUTH campaign reinvents the successful ‘Run, Hide, Tell’ public information films for a new generation.

Kids will be taught to RUN if they are able to, HIDE if they are not, and TELL police of the threat only when it is safe to do so. They will also be advised to warn others about an on-going threat, and crucially told NOT to stop and use their mobiles phones until they are safely away from danger. Continue reading
