Year 12 Geography Fieldtrip – Arkengarthdale

1.5In early October Geography Year 12 students embarked on a visit to compare different soils and infiltration rates across a transect of Arkengarthdale near Reeth. The 18 students worked extremely diligently on their work which will form the basis of the AS Paper 2 Geography exam.  This work was planned by Miss Logan, who explained the importance of all the equipment used for the task and whose passion and enthusiasm for the topic fully engaged and encouraged everyone involved with the visit!

During the afternoon students completed work for the Changing Places unit, in which the students compare Reeth and Middlesbrough.  This involved completing questionnaires, interviewing residents and carrying out environmental surveys.  As can be seen from the following photos, the students were a credit to the college, with a superb approach to their work.
